My passion lies in applying technology and engineering to drive business impact and solve real, user-facing problems. As Senior Director of Engineering at Coinbase for the past 7 years - and with prior roles at Airbnb and Square - I bring deep expertise in high-frequency, high-performance trading systems, financial risk and fraud prevention, compliance infrastructure, and international expansion. I’ve led the development of global payments platforms supporting multiple currencies and jurisdictions, with a strong understanding of both traditional finance and the web3 ecosystem. I believe in hands-on technical leadership. While I’ve managed large, cross-functional engineering organizations, I stay close to the technology to ensure alignment between engineering execution and business outcomes. With a PhD in Computer Science and over 20 years in software engineering, I’ve found the greatest impact comes when engineering is integrated with product and business strategy. I’m most energized by solving complex challenges where technology directly shapes the user experience and the company’s success. We’re hiring across Engineering, Product, and Design at Coinbase.
