Blake is also an active investor and advisor in the cybersecurity industry, supporting innovative startups that aim to improve the security posture of enterprise organizations. He is an advisory board member at Store Labs, a cloud-based platform that enables secure and compliant data storage and sharing. Trent is a Principal Security Engineer and Research Practice Manager at Trail of Bits. He was worked in computer security since 2012 as a researcher and engineer at Assured Information Security in Rome, NY, and at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, where he served as the Threat Intelligence Branch Chief and the Associate Division Chief of Threat Intelligence & Analytics. Throughout his career, Trent has delivered research results and technology to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFoSR), and the Defense Advance Research Projects Agency (DARPA). His work has covered many technical areas including Windows driver development, network administration, programming language development, cryptography, IPv6, and network data gathering and analysis. Trent received his Ph.D. in computational physics from Emory University in Atlanta in 2014, and his dissertation work applied the renormalization group and Monte Carlo methods to study exact results on complex networks. Over the past several years, he and his lab established the theoretical framework with which to study the observables of statistical models on recursive networks such as the Migdal-Kadanoff lattice and the Hanoi networks.
