Edward has 15+ years of US/global venture capital investment and fund investment experience. Key investments have included Mysten Labs (supporter of Sui token), Cruise Automation (~$1B acq. by GM), Palantir (NYSE: PLTR), Life360 (ASX IPO), Brave Software (First institutional investor, BOD member), fund investments: Cendana Capital (leading seed stage FOF, Fund 2 investor, LPAC member), 1011 Ventures (leading cybersecurity VC, Fund 1 investor, LPAC member) as well as numerous other USD and RMB investments, particularly in Cybersecurity and enterprise technology. Prior work has included leading the largest Cybersecurity unicorn fundraise in the world (5B RMB over 3 years) for Qianxin (resulted in 2020 IPO - $10B market cap company). Prior work at 360 ($20B market cap Cyber co), DCM ($3B AUM US/China/Japan VC), and Bain and Company. Kauffman Class 15 Fellow. Edward is currently based in the Bay Area, CA. Significant experience in deep, creative research, deal-sourcing, complex negotiations and capital market functions (fundraising, M&A, investing, IR). Enjoys intellectually honest, agile, collaborative environments. --- Edward most recently was Director of Investment at Qianxin, a $10B market cap (recent IPO) enterprise security company in China and largest cyber unicorn in the world, where he led fundraising for Qianxin, raising 5B RMB over two years (2.85B in 2017, 2.15B in 2018), where he recruited and coached a team of four Directors and multiple analysts (~6 other investment team members). Largest Cybersecurity fundraise among Cyber unicorns in 2019 according to CBInsights. Edward also was Assistant GM and Executive Director at Security Capital (founding LPs are Qianxin and Xiangdong Qi - Chairman of Qianxin) a 600M RMB venture fund focused on cyber security investment. Keydeals include: Companies: 永信至诚, 天空卫士, 威努特, 天际友盟, Brave, Cruise, Life360; LP in 1011 Ventures, Cendana Capital; M&A - Netensec and 3 other China deals. Previously was an Investment VP at DCM, a leading $3B early stage venture capital firm with offices in Menlo Park, Beijing and Tokyo.
